Kumar Ravi Shankar is a highly experienced Big Data Solutions Architect and thought leader with over 11 years of hands-on experience in Hadoop implementations across multiple domains and industries. With exceptional client interaction skills, he has a proven track record of building and implementing DR design and setup across On-Premise and Cloud infrastructure. Currently working as a Solutions Architect at Acceldata, Kumar is responsible for troubleshooting, architecture consulting, and performance tuning across all Big Data components, majorly in HDFS, YARN, Hive, Kafka, Spark, and Hbase. Kumar has a strong background in project management, effort estimation, and Pre-Sales activities. He works closely with Sales and Customer teams to resolve any technical queries and collaborates with Support and Engineering teams on any bug resolution. He is proficient in Big Data platforms such as Hortonworks Data Platform, Cloudera CDH, CDP, and Apache Open Source, cloud platforms like AWS EC2, AWS S3, Azure, and OS platforms such as Ubuntu 16, 18, 20, RHEL 6.x, 7.x, Cent OS, and Fedora. He is also skilled in scripting languages such as Shell Scripting, Perl Scripting, Ansible, and Python. In his current role at Acceldata, Kumar provides Hadoop support and broad technical insights to the enterprise customers they have onboarded. He has strong SME expertise in HDFS, Yarn, Hive, Kafka, Hbase, Spark, Zeppelin, Ambari, Kerberos, and Airflow. He is responsible for creating and publishing white-papers for the proposed and implemented solutions, which address the outstanding issues with any Big Data components. He also designs and deploys complex big data solutions for customers across all platforms, from on-premise to cloud. Before joining Acceldata, Kumar worked as a Lead System Engineer at Ecolab Digital Center, where he designed and operationalized the data lake for supply chain and management using Azure IaaS. He also worked as a Senior Data Engineer at General Electric, where he was responsible for designing, developing, and building the GE finance data lake platform over AWS cloud to serve data engineering, data pipeline, and low-latency reporting.
